Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Zhenzhishan, Mishan Mt., Heilongjiang. It was named by Liang Qingchu in 1964.


Lithology and Thickness

Sandstone and Claystone. Lower part consists of pebbly coarse-grained lithic sandstone, medium-grained lithic sandstone, siltstone and clayey slate. Upper part is composed of slate intercalated with thin coal seams, with lithic sandstone being intercalated with gray-black slate in its lower part. Thickness 315.5 m, and over 524 m on the northern hill of Zhenzi Mt.

Fossils

Lower part contains minor amounts of plants Noeggerathiopsis cf. baschatensis, N. lianzhushanensis, Crassinervia cf. kuznetskiana, Nephropsis cf. integrrima, Sphenopteris sp., Samaropsis sp. and Cardiocarpus sp.
